FareWill ("we", "us", or "our") is a pet end-of-life planning service operated by Sean Mayers as a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting the personal information of our customers and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share it.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website at farewill.ca, our payment processor, our questionnaire platform, and any related communications.

By purchasing from FareWill and completing our questionnaire, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you purchase a FareWill plan, we collect:

• Your name and email address (collected via Stripe at checkout)
• Your phone number (collected via Stripe at checkout)
• Payment information (processed directly by Stripe — FareWill does not store your card details)

When you complete your FareWill questionnaire, we collect:

• Your pet's name, species, breed, age, and date of birth
• Your pet's personality, daily routine, and care needs
• Your pet's medical conditions, medications, and veterinary clinic details
• Your end-of-life wishes for your pet
• Names, contact details, and relationship information for designated caretakers
• Personal messages written in your own words
• Any other information you choose to provide in your responses

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Our website may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited through standard web analytics tools. This information is used to improve our website and is not linked to your personal identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your purchase and deliver your personalised FareWill plan
• Send you your plan questionnaire and communicate with you about your order
• Respond to your questions or requests
• Improve our products and services
• Comply with legal obligations

With your explicit consent, we may also use your information to:

• Send you updates, news, or promotional offers from FareWill
• Share relevant recommendations for third-party services such as pet insurance or veterinary care providers

FareWill does not sell your personal information to third parties without your explicit, informed consent obtained at the point of data collection.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With our service providers who help us operate our business (Stripe for payment processing, Tally.so for questionnaire delivery, Zapier for workflow automation, and Microsoft 365 for email). Each provider processes your data only as needed to perform their service and is bound by their own privacy policies.
• If required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of FareWill, our customers, or others.

If in the future we wish to share your data with third-party marketing partners (such as pet insurance providers or veterinary services), we will obtain your explicit opt-in consent before doing so. You will always have the right to decline.

5. Data Storage, Security, and Cross-Border Transfers

Your personal information is stored across the following third-party platforms:

• Stripe (payment data) — stripe.com/privacy
• Tally.so (questionnaire responses) — tally.so/privacy
• Zapier (workflow automation) — zapier.com/privacy
• Microsoft 365 (email communications) — microsoft.com/privacy

Cross-Border Data Transfers: Our third-party service providers (including Stripe, Tally, Zapier, and Microsoft 365) may process, store, or access your personal information on servers located outside of Ontario and Canada, primarily in the United States. Consequently, your personal information may be subject to the laws of foreign jurisdictions, including local law enforcement access and foreign court orders, which may differ from Canadian privacy laws.

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

FareWill does not operate its own server database. Your information is held within the platforms listed above and in the completed plan documents we create and deliver to you.

6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA and Privacy Compliance

As a Canadian resident, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request access to your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent to certain uses of your information
• Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements

7. Data Retention and Breach Notification

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to deliver your plan and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of follow-up requests, customer support, or legal compliance.

Breach Notification: In the event of a security safeguards breach involving personal information under our control that poses a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in accordance with PIPEDA requirements as soon as feasible.

8. Children's Privacy

FareWill is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us at hello@farewill.ca and we will take prompt steps to remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
